Adobe adds AI features to Premier Pro

Adobe has announced its intention to add generative AI features to its video editing software Premier Pro later this year. The new features will be based on Adobe's Firefly AI model, as well as partnerships with some popular AI companies such as OpenAI, Pika Labs and Runway ML.

The software's new video editing features include the ability to add or remove elements in videos using text commands, and users will also be able to extend the length of video footage based on AI models to create additional content consistent with the original clips.
To maintain transparency and reliability, all videos created using these tools will be automatically tagged via the Adobe Content Credentials Content Authentication Service. Another anticipated feature is the ability to create realistic high-resolution images and videos using text commands based on different models, including OpenAI's Sora model and other models that Adobe will provide access to.

Adobe will also offer an enhanced audio editing experience in Premier Pro, with powerful and intuitive tools to control every aspect of audio.
Although Adobe did not announce a specific release date, it confirmed that the new video editing tools will appear later this year, and did not disclose pricing details, but it is likely to be available according to the company's Creative Cloud subscriptions.
