New update makes ChatGPT audio more human-simulated

OpenAI has launched a new update that adds to the ChatGPT smart chatbot the ability to speak in a more human style that reflects the expression of emotions, and the user can interrupt it at any time as if it were having a conversation with a normal person. The company pointed out that the new update began to reach a number of subscribers to the ChatGPT Plus service, and will reach all users by the last quarter of this year.
In a post on the "X" platform, the company explained that the Advanced Voice Mode feature will make ChatGPT can obtain senses that sense the user's surroundings, in addition to the ability to interact and provide responses to users' feelings more naturally.
The update was delayed in June, due to the company's view that it needs more time to add layers of protection and security that provide a safer experience for users.

The postponement came as Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson broke her silence about OpenAI using her voice as one of the human voices available on ChatGPT, despite rejecting an offer made by Sam Altman, the company's director and founder last year.
Against the backdrop of the dispute with Johansson, OpenAI decided to delete the sound similar to her voice, which was known as Sky, as it is similar to her voice performance of the Smart Voice Assistant character in the movie Her.

New features
The new generation of voice interaction feature on ChatGPT will provide the smart platform with a set of advantages, the most important of which is the ability to translate instantly between speakers with different languages, in addition to the ability to change sounds according to any character requested by the user. In March, the company confirmed at the launch ceremony of its GPT-4.0 model that the upgraded voice mode will reach the general public by the end of this year.
OpenAI stated that ChatGPT with the improved version of voice interaction will be able to get visibility via the user's phone camera. Users can ask questions and inquiries about what ChatGPT sees on their phone's camera, for example, they can get help with the interior decoration of the house and which colors in the furniture are suitable for it, as well as the possibility of taking advice from the smart platform regarding the colors of clothes.
This feature is somewhat similar to what Meta introduced through its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses by adding a smart assistant to it in an update that arrived last May.
